Introduction

With the amount of data being processed and shared on a daily basis, modern technical systems contribute to concerns of data privacy and improper data usage. Organizations processing data are called to do so under strict compliance to data protection mandates, which can be accomplished through a combination of technical and organizational measures.

In our research, we investigate various aspects of privacy, from privacy practices in organizational settings, measuring privacy perceptions of users and practitioners alike, and advancing the state-of-the-art of specialized Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PETs), particular Differential Privacy. The main focus of these investiagtions revolves around tranferring PETs from the academic sphere by increasing practical usability and general awareness of these technologies.
