The chair of software engineering for business information systems and the professorship for Legal Tech at the Technical University of Munich are organizing an interdisciplinary summer school on Legal Tech for PhD students and early career postdocs.

Mission

The mission of the 1st Munich LegalTech Summer School is to bring together excellent junior researchers with computer science and legal background to foster an interdisciplinary exchange. With talks from world-class experts, collaborative practical lab sessions, and discussion sessions, we want to educate the next generation of LegalTech researchers. Thereby, we want to examine the different sub areas of the research, from a legal, as well as from a computer science point of view, with talks including the topics:

• Natural Legal Language Processing
• Court Case Outcome Prediction
• Legal Data Science
• Legal Reasoning
• Argument Mining
• Ethics and Fairness

The focus of the summer school will be on empirical research. Therefore, an important part will be hands-on lab sessions where participants are encouraged to apply their newly acquired knowledge on real datasets and problems within interdisciplinary teams.

Participation and Safety

We will take all possible measures to enable safe on-site participation in Munich according to local health and safety regulations. If on-site participation or travelling is not possible, or you feel unsafe to do so, you will be able to participate remotely. For planning reasons, please indicate in your application whether you would want to participate on-site if possible or prefer remote participation. This is merely a first indication and not binding.

Application and Costs

Participation in the Summer School will be free of charge. Costs for travel and accommodation for all participants will be covered through travel grants. Registration will close 25th of April 2021.

The number of participants is limited to 30 in order to provide an interactive learning atmosphere. We invite applications from PhD students and recently graduated postdocs from the fields of computer science, law, and related fields. • Documents showing you're enrolled as a PhD student / you recently finished your PhD and - are now working as a postdoc

We are searching students for the practical course Master Lab Course Web Applications.

Our basic requirement is familiarity with web development technologies and frameworks (React/AngularJS, MongoDB, Express, NodeJS).

You will work in a team to develop the “auTOMate... your reports of technical and organizational measures” project from Dominik Huth. The project description, requirements, and expected prior knowledge can be found here.

Since we have very few slots left, applicants are selected based on First Come First Serve rule.

Wir suchen mehrere motivierte Tutor*innen für die Wirtschaftsinformatik Bachelor Veranstaltung „Software Engineering für betriebliche Informationssysteme - Bachelorkurs (IN2085)“ im kommenden Wintersemester 19/20.

Aufgabe der Tutoren ist das Halten von zwei Übungsgruppen, die Korrektur von Hausaufgaben und das Unterstützen der Klausurdurchführung.

Die Tätigkeit als Tutor gibt dir die Möglichkeit Lehrerfahrung zu sammeln, deine Fachkenntnisse zu vertiefen, sowie dich auch persönlich weiterzuentwickeln und dabei bezahlt zu werden. Die Einstellung erfolgt über den zentralen Tutorbetrieb der Fakultät für Informatik und das Gehalt richtet sich nach deinem Abschluss.

Das solltest du mitbringen:

• Spaß bzw. Interesse an der Lehre
• sehr gute Deutschkenntnisse
• ca. 12 Stunden Zeit pro Woche (2 Übungsgruppen)

Es ist möglich die Tutorentätigkeit bei uns mit der Veranstaltung der Didaktik „Didaktisches und pädagogisches Training für Tutoren“ (4 ECTS, Überfachliche Grundlagen) zu kombinieren.

Aufgabe:

Entwicklung einer kleinen Android App, die Daten eines per USB an das Mobiltelefon angeschlossenen RFID-Scanners und einen mit der Kamera des Smartphone aufgenommen Barcode erfasst und diese dann per REST-Request an ein bestehendes Backend schickt. 

Die App ist zunächst als MVP gedacht, um Nutzer-Feedback einzuholen. Eine iterative Weiterentwicklung bis hin zu einer kommerziellen Lösung ist geplant. Die App ist Bestandteil eines Blockchain-basierten Logistik-Lösung, die der Lehrstuhl sebis für einen Industriepartner entwickelt.

Die Entwicklung sollte unmittelbar beginnen und  idealerweise in 2-3 Wochen abgeschlossen sein, um die Anwendung auf einer Messe zu zeigen. Eine Fortsetzung der Zusammenarbeit ist explizit gewünscht.
