In general the TUM Campus in Garching does not have any accommodation or hotels. Therefore, the closest and most convenient locations to stay overnight are Garching or Garching Hochbrück. The metro U6 connects both with the Campus Garching Forschungszentrum where TUM is located.
One of the following hotels probably fits your needs best. Hotel König Ludwig II and Hotel am Park are located in Garching centrally nearby the metro. Garching is a small town and has some restaurants for dinner. Additionally, in Garching Hochbrück there is a Motel One close to the metro but there is no restaurant close by.
