The Legal AI Use Case Radar was released on July 12 by the sebis chair, backed by a team of Florian Matthes and his research associates Stephen Meisenbacher, Nektarios Machner, and Juraj Vladika.

Following a year and half of research, the team has compiled the findings of their work into this online resource, along with a companion report, titled the Legal AI Use Case Radar 2024 Report. Together, these resources aim to provide clarity on the current state of the Legal AI landscape, with the primary goal on answering: what are the use cases for which Legal AI is being employed?

Focusing our study on the German-speaking region, the course of our study involved over 50 interviews with legal practitioners and Legal AI solution providers, as well as an in-depth literature of underlying NLP technologies for Legal AI. An online survey was also conducted to validate the findings, specifically the collection of use cases for Legal AI.

Composable Finance is a Web3 company, working on Decentralized Finance (DeFi) solutions for the cross-chain domain. Recently, they announced a request for papers, and Burak Öz from sebis applied to the "Detecting Cross-Domain MEV Activity" topic and got accepted. The research will span six months, starting in April 2024.

from 1 February until 17 March 2024, the Software Campus is again looking for new participants. In the program, computer scientists work together with a company on real-life applications and are funded by the BMBF with up to €115,000. In the process, they lead their own team, build up new knowledge on management and leadership in training courses, and are accompanied by experienced managers in mentoring. On 1 February 2024, 11 a.m. - 12:45 p.m., the Software Campus project team will inform about the upcoming application round and answer questions in an online event. In addition, representatives of some of the industry partners will be there to present their research focuses and get in touch with you, including Bosch, Celonis, DATEV, Holtzbrinck Publishing Group, Merck, Volkswagen, or ZEISS. Uniswap Foundation has committed 3,000,000 USD over 3 years to TL;DR, which promotes DeFi research through fellowships, conferences, and mentorship from industry experts. This year, they have received 107 applications and selected 10 fellows.

Burak Öz from sebis applied to "Block Bidding Economics on MEV-boost" topic and got accepted. He will conduct his research with the council and mentors from Flashbots and the Ethereum Foundation. The research will span six months and conclude with a closing conference in New York City, US, in May 2024.
