Optimizing the User Experience of a Social Content Manager for Casual Users

Abstract

In today’s enterprises there exist many different data sources containing multiple data representations (such as dashboards, metrics or emails), which are produced and consumed by again different stakeholders. An information and social integration platform can address this problem, which integrates these different data representations and has to provide stakeholders’ relationships, access rights and responsibilities. Though there is no sufficient solution yet.

In order to visualize this platform, consisting of many different views for end users, different roles and responsibilities, individual demands and groups, a generic web application for such a platform has to provide a respective model-based user interface for each party and support all capabilities necessary for the successful collaboration.

First steps of the solution approach are to examine and understand existing code. Next the requirements for the generic web application are raised and goals are set. Then the web application is designed. After that a prototypical application is implemented. As last step the goals, design and implementation is evaluated.

The resulting prototypical implementation presents a functioning generic web application for the information platform. The design will be extensible and flexible, lay the base foundation for further research and support all requirements that were set.
