Abstract: A key question in strategic IT management of Multinational Companies (MNCs) is the degree of harmonization of IT across different entities and the IT governance structure to achieve and ongoingly manage this target state. Starting from a Gobal IT Management Benchmarking that BCG conducted with 13 MNCs, the presentation briefly describes challenges and trends driving harmonization, shows what governance models are applied in practice, and discusses critical success factors for achieving and managing IT commonality in MNCs.

Am Mittwoch, den 7. Mai 2008, fand die Abschlussveranstaltung zur Enterprise Architecture Management Tool Survey 2008 am Lehrstuhl sebis statt. Ca. 70 Gäste von zahlreichen Anwenderunternehmen waren hierzu angereist und konnten die fertige Studie nicht nur in Empfang nehmen, sondern sich die Ergebnisse im Rahmen einer angeschlossenen Messe von den neun an der Studie teilnehmenden Werkzeugherstellern auch "live" vorführen lassen. Eine Abschlussdiskussion bot den Teilnehmern darüber hinaus die Gelegenheit, zukünftige Trends im Bereich EAM zu diskutieren.

Abstract:The number of business applications operated by enterprises to provide support for the business has increased over the last years. With increasing number of applications and connections between them, also the overall complexity of the application landscape has grown. A main task in managing an application landscape is maintaining quality levels. This article contributes a set of metrics for measuring a specific attribute of an application landscape - failure propagation.
